In the time it takes for your heart to beat once, GE Healthcare’s Revolution CT scanner can capture a detailed picture of your body. What sorcery is this? Alie Ward and Adam Savage, the hosts of GE’s web series “In The Wild”, go under the machines hood to find out in today’s episode.

The imaging components of the CT scanner reach 70 Gs– almost 9 times the G forces that John Glenn felt when he first launched into space. The X-ray tube moves at this speed so it can capture thousands of “slices”, or images of the body, per second. The scanner helps doctors to improve image quality and reduce the amount of radiation the patient receives compared with other scanners.
